Lots to post....I've been away and busy at work so several posts to get caught up.
Best news of this calving season is how tenacious and tough Tessa is. Coyotes have been around and one of our protective cows tried to take me.
Rancher used to help "distract" cows. Tessa flat took her on and chased her away. Then standing next to me doctoring the calf held the cow 50 yards away with a look. Quite impressive.
She was tired after the trip but don't judge her by her size....she's not to be messed with.
My wife and I are happy to be a part of the family farm. I've always enjoyed the loyalty and companionship from good dogs and have taken up the training of herding dogs the past few years. I learn so much from the Australian Shepherds I've been with, and hope they enjoy their time with us as much as we love them.
