Tessa helped me move cattle and sheep off to the side, and then get Melanie up to a box stall so we can watch her and her new calf (See her pic on the Farm Blog).
She did a nice job, but it's funny how she'll pretend she doesn't see the calves. It creates interesting situations when she's trying to move the mother and ignoring the calf. By the end she was doing good, but it took some work.
My wife and I are happy to be a part of the family farm. I've always enjoyed the loyalty and companionship from good dogs and have taken up the training of herding dogs the past few years. I learn so much from the Australian Shepherds I've been with, and hope they enjoy their time with us as much as we love them.
