We had some really snowy weather last week and weekend. It is finally melted and getting back to our normal rainy weather. We are not used to a lot of snow and neither are the cows. We did have one occurrence where we had to come to the rescue last weekend and help one of the mama cows out. We were out checking the herd when we happened across this..
One of the cows was trying to get in along a fallen tree for cover. By the time she crawled all the way in there she couldn't lift her legs over the branches to back out. The poor girl looked like she had been standing there a while. Luckily we were able to get the saw and give her a hand.
Soon we had her path cut out and were able to herd her back out from the tree. We were happy we found her and able to get her free. She was happy we brought something to eat with us as well!
Lorin and I have been around agriculture our whole lives. We're happy to be part of the family farm.
