Lots of nice things about growing trees, but one of the worst things about raising Christmas Trees is dealing with the stumps. We spent several hours Sunday picking stumps up out of a future hay field. It is about 9 acres and we got a fifth of it done.
The legs and back feel it a few days later.
The new grass planted in the fall is coming up nice....but we can't rake and bale hay until we get the stump chunks cleared out. Another 6-8 hours with 3-4 people and we should be ready for weed control, fertilizer and harvest.
Lorin and I have been around agriculture our whole lives. We're happy to be part of the family farm.
